Ohio Hearing Aid Assistance Program
OHAAP helps families with children from birth to 21 with hearing impairments.

The Ohio Hearing Aid Assistance Program (OHAAP) helps families with children from birth to 21 with hearing impairments with:

  • Hearing aids
  • Earmolds
  • Hearing aid batteries

Families with incomes at or below 400 percent of the federal poverty guidelines qualify for the program.

Children enrolled or who can qualify for Medicaid or the Children with Medical Handicaps Program (BCMH) are not eligible for OHAAP (unless documentation can be provided that Medicaid of CMH will not pay).

Depending on income limits, families may be responsible to pay a sliding scale fee up to $20.00. The fee is for the audiological services to assess the child for the hearing aid as well as needed follow up to evaluate aid. Families who qualify and are interested in the program must complete the Family Application Form and provide verification of income.
